Sleepless Nights

This is Sadie's new way of saying hi. Grandma taught it to her.
She has had the the worst couple of days, well nights actually.
Night 1 - She went to bed at ten (normal) then she woke up at 2, wide awake and happy (not normal). She didn't go back to sleep until 6. Four hour play parties with mom and dad in the middle of the night are not all that fun. It is a good thing she is so funny and happy.
Night 2 - Scott went back to work and so I was alone in taking care of Sadie. She goes to bed at 9. I stay up to watch TV with my mom. Around 10 she wakes up crying. Usually I give her a bottle and she goes back to sleep, usually. She refuses her bottle. We are up and down the stairs trying to get her to go to bed. She wouldn't let me put her down for anything. So after hours of feeling hopeless I tried one last tactic. I put her in her car seat. Within minutes she was sleeping soundly. She slept in her car seat next to her crib from about 2 until 7. Lets just say I was tired.
It wasn't until later that day that I realized that she was cutting 2 teeth. I am so grateful for baby orajel teething pain relief. I am sure that is the only reason I got sleep last night.

Finally another post. It is a little hard to sit and do this because we are back and forth so often, plus our lives are not the most exciting. We are still liking the California weather even though it has been raining a lot the past week. There has been a lot going on. Scott's little brother Brandon had a shooting accident and badly damaged one of his eyes. They are still checking it to see if it will heal enough for him to keep it though he has done really well the last few days. They say that he is able to see light and some color, so that is a good sign. In other news, we may be moving back to Idaho in April. The company Scott works for is starting to pick up some more work, good work. They should be building around 20 fourplex apartments in Idaho falls, along with an FBI building and a social security building. It would last him at least a few years, maybe long enough for our economy to get back on its feet. I really would like to stay close to my family in California but what can I do when they offer him a good job and good money. I do miss all my friends up in Idaho so that will be a plus for sure, and believe it or not I miss Rexburg too. In Sadie news, she has learned to kind of crawl. It is really more of a scoot. She has also learned to clap when she likes something or when we say Yay! She is so funny. All in all we are doing well and just looking to the future hoping it stays as bright as it is now.

This is Sadie playing.

Catching Up

first bite of chicken

Well life has been pretty good so far here in California. We haven't been up to too much lately. Over the last month my accomplishments include reading the twilight series, finishing a painting, and shopping. I have been very productive indeed. Scott has been busy with work, which is mostly the same stuff every day. I think that the person with the most growth over the last month would have to be Sadie. She can now crawl in addition to her rolling capabilities. She can stand in her play yard holding onto the sides all by herself too. Her diet has drastically increased to include all of the baby food fruits and veggies, plus chicken, yogurt melt aways, and zwieback toast. The last two on the list require supervision. I have included some pictures that show her reaction to her first bite of chicken. I thought she was going to cry.
