it's about time I had something to blog about

Well, I guess I could have written about Sadie's birthday last month, but I didn't get any pictures and what is a post without pictures. Scott's family was able to come down and spend a week with us for Sadie's birthday. We had a lot of fun going to the beach and visiting Old Sacramento. On Sadie's birthday we had a big pool party at my parents house. It was a big "Tangled" party, per Sadie's request. I even went online and bought some Chinese wish lanterns that we set off into the sky that night. It doesn't seem like much happened after that until it came to my birthday. On July 14th I met a few of my friends from high school and a couple of my brothers to watch the midnight showing of the new Harry Potter movie. It was awesome! We were out until 4 in the morning, and on the 15th we left early for a trip with my family to lake Shasta. My dad rented a house boat and we camped on the lake for about a week. It was really awesome, and I have to say one of the best birthdays I've had in a while. I got a new camera for my birthday and I hope that it will inspire me to blog more.

As for the girls;

Sadie

She is 3 years old now (CRAZY!)
she can swim on her own, as long as she is wearing her monster floaty

she can be quite the diva at times

she is sneaky and likes to get into my makeup and clothes

she is very sweet and loving with her sister

she is very good at listening to me and reminding everyone else, even me , when we are not allowed to do something. or when we are supposed to be doing something.

She loves to say the dinner prayer

She loves to read, well... have books read to her.

She has eagle eyes that can spot her favorite character on any item across an entire store.

She remembers every detail about everything and likes to retell the days events to me every night at bedtime. (mostly to delay going to sleep I think, though I usually catch her in her bed with books and toys anyway)

She loves fishing now too.

She loves her family and reminds us of that all the time.

She still cracks me up most of the time, like when she makes up sayings while playing with her food. For example she likes to say "bockwet bockwet reda " when stirring her yogurt. I have no clue what she is actually saying but it is funny all the same.

Eloise

She is almost 9 months old (again CRAZY!)

She is a very good eater and probably weighs about 18 lbs

she is starting to sit by herself really well and can now roll across the room.

She has quite the temper when you take away a "toy" that she really likes.

Over all she is a very good baby, and a very good sleeper.

We have been waiting for her to teeth her first teeth the last few months (the doctor said it would happen any day a few months ago : )

She, like Sadie, loves the water. She actually gets mad when you take her out of the pool prematurely.

She is a bit bashful.

I think one of her favorite people is her Grandpa Ken (my dad) she usually gets pretty grumpy with everyone except me and him. (I think it has to do with the plastic wrappers and bags he lets her play with ;)

She is spoiled by her daddy sometimes. On the trip he gave her a licorice rope to play with while I wasn't looking. The red on her face and hands was enough evidence for me to know what he had done : )

I love my girls so much. Sometimes I feel like my life is a little crazy and that I personally don't have much of one, but most of the time things are pretty awesome. I'm so glad I get to be their mom and I can't believe how perfect my life feels when I actually stop to think about it.

Sadie

I'd like to start this post with a picture of Sadie that my brother painted. I took the picture to do a portrait in oil pastel myself, and then my brother called looking for a picture of her. This picture was perfect for the prompt he was given in his class. My brother Brian is a fairly new member of the art community. He started painting about a year ago, if not a little longer. He shows great promise, and I just really liked how he captured my little Sadie in this painting so I thought I'd share it.

Next I would like to thank the Buie family for this awesome idea. Sadie had a lot of fun making these butterfly wings, although she was a little disappointed that she couldn't actually fly.

She was so excited to make her wings that we ended up making them before getting ready for the day, hence the pj's and her messy hair.

Yes she has marker and chocolate from a granola bar on her face,

but I still think she is a cutie pie.

And then I left the room for a few minutes and I came back to this. This is what happens when I bring markers into the house, and why Sadie usually only has crayons. Don't worry she isn't mad, just chewing a pretzel.

Oh how I love my little Sadie. She is getting too big already, and it makes me sad thinking of the day when she'll be old enough to leave and start her own family. I just hope she stays her sweet self, and that I can teach her everything she'll need to know.

Our Sweet Girls

Miss Sadie is getting so big. I can't believe she is going to be 3 in less than a month and a half. She is very excited too. She tells me all the time how she wants to have a megamind, tangled, hello kitty party. She can be a pill sometimes but she always asks me if I'm happy and tells me that she loves me. She loves being a girl. In these pictures we are making hair bows while Ellie was taking a nap. I think Sadie's favorite part was the buttons.

Miss Eloise is every bit as much of a pill as her sister. She is the sweetest baby, until you hold a bottle or toy in front of her face and she can't get at it. She will be six months old on thursday the 5th. It has gone by so much faster than I could ever have imagined. She has discovered her feet which has helped her learn to roll over. She gets frustrated really easily though because she can't crawl and she wants to. She is a great laugher, though like her sister her laugh tends to sound a little evil. We all laugh because both our girls have deep man chuckles instead of little girl giggles. Ellie also loves to sing. Whenever I sing to her or she hears someone singing she screeches along. Tonight she was my little blogging helper. She loves her sister, and usually Sadie can get her to laugh the hardest. She does the same for Sadie. Whenever Sadie wakes up grumpy, whether from a nap or in the morning, all it takes is one look at her sister and Sadie is instantly in a good mood and talking to her sister. I was afraid of how hard it would be to have two little ones, but now it is so much fun I can't imagine it being different. I am lucky though, I have two great sleepers. Now my only fear is teething and that I'll actually have to get up at night : ) I can't help but wonder where my hardcore momness went, maybe it will kick in when it has too.

Wait... am I actually blogging right now?

Well life has been really exciting lately...not. Just more of the same old stuff, wake up, feed the girls, entertain the girls, feed the girls again, put them down for a nap, try and figure out something for dinner, cook, feed the girls, entertain them some more, then bedtime. It has been especially fun since my car has started having problems, and I am once again home bound. We play a lot with bubbles and chalk. We have colored bubbles, giant bubbles, lots o' bubbles, and scented bubbles. Sometimes I wish we could mix them all together and get lots of giant scented color bubbles, that would be fun. Sadie and I also started a mini garden of daisies, sunflowers, and grass.

Eloise is doing well, she is a little behind physically but not too far behind. We are working on her sitting up. It seems like she is all smiles and slobber sometimes. She is such a good baby. She is 5 1/2 months and she weighs about 14 lbs. She is little for her age but she still seems chunky to me. Sadie is doing well too. She is potty trained and does a really good job of letting me know. They are both good sleepers too. I feel a little spoiled and am starting to fear teething. I just hope Ellie does as well as Sadie did with her first 4 teeth. Sadie seems to get smarter every hour. She likes to read me her stories, and she actually remembers the details and sentences from each page. She knows all her colors, but i guess that can be expected since our favorite past time is painting or coloring. Sadie loves Eloise and tries to be a little mommy to her. She helps her roll onto her tummy, brings her toys, and teaches her things. It is fun having two girls, and I can't wait until they can really play together. Scott and I are also doing well. Our anniversary is coming up in a week, and I can't believe we have been married for 5 years. We are starting to feel old.

I am absolutely in love with my kindle. I think I'm on book 22 for the year. I just finished The Hunger Games series. They were a little intense but all together a pretty good read. I mostly find books to read to fill the time until the ones I really want to read come out. If you have any suggestions I will gladly take them. I must leave you with that, Ellie is trying to get my attention, and Sadie has started to paint her big blocks instead of the eggs I gave her. : )

There are a few differences in them but overall I definitely think they look alike.

So maybe I'm a little out of the habit

My cute girls are so much fun. Just for fun, today Sadie and I did her makeup and hair. She is such a girly girl sometimes, and other times she is just one of the guys (usually when she is hanging out with her cousins who are all boys). We have also been painting and playing dolls a lot. She is doing so well with not being able to go out very much, like once a week. It is killing me that she isn't able to go to nursery for the time being. I think that I most definitely took being able to go places, especially church for granted. The only other time I faced this inability to go where I wanted when I wanted was when I was in Japan. It was hard for me then but I only had to deal with it for a few weeks. I have to say that I have great friends and family, they have been there for me whenever I needed anything, even if it was just me wanting to run down the street to get a book. My parents are like my personal super heroes.

We had a fun but hard holiday season. All of our plans where squashed by my brothers getting sick. On Christmas day my brother and nephew woke up with high fevers, it was strep throat. and just recently my youngest brother came down with what they first thought was RSV but is now pneumonia. I guess someone is trying to get me to stay home. The stress is only going to build because on the first of February we are switching management companies and we will basically take on everything for the facility ourselves. So we are doing our job plus our bosses job. All in all I think that it is going to be a great thing for us.

And we don't want to leave Ellie out of the fun. No she isn't made up with makeup but she sure is cute. She is learning to smile though I haven't managed to catch much proof of it yet.
