Our New Home

Our huge walk in closet, Scott is very excited for this because now I have a big enough closet for all of my clothes.
Our master bedroom looking at the bathroom

Our giant living room

Our kitchen

Our dinning room.

Well it was definitely an interesting first night. We ended our evening with a strange man frantically trying to open our door. He had gotten locked in the yard of the storage facility and couldn't get out. We figured it out in the end but it was a little startling for a first night. Other than that it was pretty good, and it turns out that I know exactly where I am. After doing some investigating it turns out that we are just down the road from my dads work and I used to work for my dad so I at least know where all the restaurants are. And I am sorry, I forgot to get pictures of our other apartment, lets just say that our old apartment could fit in our living room and dining room.

Yay! but kinda nervous

We are moving today! I am excited but I am nervous all at the same time. We have no money and we don't know the area where we are moving to but it is a much nicer apartment. It may be a little while before I am able to post pictures of our new place, we still have to figure out how to get Internet and TV, but I promise I will. I will even post pictures of the apartment we are in now so you can see the difference. Any way, just wanted you to know. I must go now and help with the moving.

Christmas, Oh Christmas

We have had a fun holiday season, but boy am I tired. The last few weeks have been full of; shopping, cleaning, wrapping, crafting, and cooking. I am more than excited for the new year and the new adventure ahead of us. It has been very nice to have a holiday season filled with my family, and friends. It was nice to have a Christmas where we could focus on Christ and the blessing we have had this year. Even though we didn't have much and it felt like December only took 2 weeks to pass by, I think I will always remember this Christmas as one of my favorites. I sit now surrounded by my family, everyone being as loud as can be, and feel so blessed to have them as my own. To everyone I wish a Merry Christmas and many hopes for the new year. And now what you have all been waiting for, pictures of Sadie! Yay!
Sadie loves the rocking horse that Aunt Jessica got for her.

I spent a lot of time making Sadie a new blanket for her new big girl bed.

I made her a few pillows too.

I think that Sadie needs a hair cut.

News!!!!!

Sadie looking like a gnome.
Great and exciting news!

We have been given a job. We get to live in a nice big apartment rent and utility free, and we get to work together. Yay! My dad is so wonderful to offer this job to us. We are finally going to be managing my dads storage facility. We are so excited and thankful for the chance to actually have some money and something to do after months of no work. We will be moving again within the next week or so, but it isn't too far from where we live now. My parents are a little sad to not have us at their house all the time, but I keep reminding them that it is not that far compared to Idaho. We are excited for Christmas though we haven't done any decorating yet. I know, we are a little behind. Lately Sadie has been growing and learning so fast. She is definitely not my little baby anymore. Yesterday, while we were getting ready to leave for the day, Sadie found a set of our keys and was trying to unlock the door. She took one key and put it up to the door knob, when it didn't work she dropped her hand look through the keys, then picked a different key and tried to unlock the door again. It was so funny, and it definitely shows that she is watching us even when we think she isn't. Her new words are; kitty, dog, num num (yummy), mouth, mom mom (grandma), bye bye. I'm sure there are a few more that I can't think of at the moment. Any way that is what's going on with us at the moment. Once we get settled in our new place I might have more interesting things to post. Now I must go and play with my very emotional teenage toddler.

Snow?!!!

So lately I have been getting a little nostalgic about having a white Christmas, and well after this morning I may just get it, at least a little. It was so fun to wake up to a few inches of snow, ad a little weird. The last time it snowed here was 2002, and before that 1998, ad before that 1985, ad before that 1942. This was the most snow I have see here ever. We took advantage of the nice day and played pretty hard. Sadie wasn't quite sure how she felt about it, though she did like the giant gloves I put on her. As for life in general we are doing pretty good. We have a few prospects for work that we are trying to decide between, which is great compared to where we were. As for the last picture I must warn you it is not pretty. Scott had a motorcycle accident about a week ago and it is a picture of his battle wound. And yes I asked him if I could post it. It was a scary time for me because he couldn't walk, and he is still having problems but he is doing much better.

Our Beautiful Big Girl

So I thought I would update everyone on how Sadie is growing and learning lately. She is so full of character it is hard to know where to start. She is learning to say a lot more these days, though it is still a little hard for me to understand at times. Her favorite phrase of the moment is "wook at dat" translation look at that, or "wook at dis". She says it rather quickly too, while pointing. She also says mom a lot, in fact it is usually the first thing she says in the morning. She also says
dad
dog (when you ask her what a dog says she pants)
meow ( when she sees a cat)
wow
ow
no
don't (and this morning "you don't". She was back talking me when I told her to "don't kick your legs")
all done
ni night
tickle tickle
nose
nice

Words and phrases she understands
Put that back
sit down
ni night
no
tickle tickle
all done
kitty cat
doggy
daddy
honey = daddy
mom
milk
something to eat
look at that
sponge bob
bye bye
don't
hands
careful
nice
and a lot others I can't think of at the moment.
She is really funny and sweet most of the time, but she sure can get mad. She knows not to hit but she will get red in the face and grunt, sometimes pretend biting her own fingers. Her favorite pastimes are climbing up and down everything, eating, reading, looking at pictures, drawing and playing with my hair. She knows when she has done something wrong and gets a sad face to show that she is sorry. She will give me hugs and kisses too. She loves little people, especially boys, she even gave a 5 year old boy she didn't know a hug on Sunday at church. It was so cute. He on the other hand didn't quite know what to do. I am excited because there are only a few weeks left and she can go to nursery. Yay! She loves to brush her teeth, but not her hair. She has grown up so fast I can hardly believe it.

mostly pictures

Today was such a pretty day that I had to take some pictures.

Sadie picking Grandmas tomatoes.

Sadie knocking on great grandmas door. She looks so big in this picture.

This was after Church on our front steps. Sadie is wearing the dress Scott's mom made a little over 26 years ago for Scott before she knew he was actually a boy.

Shopping With Mom And Grandma

So today Sadie, my Mom and I all went shopping again. We had a few more things to pick up for families helping families and we ended up finding a few things for ourselves as well. Sadie loved trying on clothes too, even though they weren't quite her size. So much fun!

A Visit With Great Grandma

My Mom and Grandma with Sadie

Today my Mom and I decided to take a break from house work so that we could do some shopping and make a visit to see Grandma. We started with my Grandma. My mom has been worried about my grandma because she hasn't been wanting to get up and around much the last few days, so we decided to take lunch with us and eat with her. When we got to the hospital we weren't sure if she would be in the cafeteria with everyone else eating her lunch, but thankfully she was. She seemed so much happier today than the last few days. She should be home soon. Yay!!! After that we did some shopping for some Christmas gifts for families helping families. Oh and some gifts for a friends wedding. All in all it was a lot of fun but boy are we tired now, and all before 3pm. We still have more shopping for tomorrow but that is going to be for Scott's birthday too. And lets hope that I get pictures of Sadie in her Halloween costume soon.

It may be a few days until I am able to post pictures from Halloween. We had a crazy day as far as cameras are concerned. My mom's camera was dead and she couldn't find her charger. I had my charger but couldn't find my camera. I was a little worried that we weren't going to get any pictures but thankfully my sister was at trunk or treat and was able to snap a few cute pictures. I just have to wait to for my sister to email them to me. It was a really fun Halloween this year. My whole family helped out in a haunted house. It was held in a 100 year old 3 story mansion. It was a senior project for a member in our ward. I think that the scariest people in it were my Mom, dad, Bishop and brother, well everyone was scary but those are the four we heard the most about. Oh and in nine days it is Scott's birthday. I'm so excited! I love having an excuse to buy Scott something as a surprise. So more posts to come hopefully sooner rather than later.

Okay, okay

Okay so to appease those of you who have been bugging me to update my blog, I will no longer put it off. Since we got to California we have been pretty busy. We are just doing work for my parents at the moment but it is nice to have something to do. My grandma was put in the hospital a little over a week ago. She was pretty weak at first but then they moved her into the rehabilitation center so she could build her strength. She was doing well until they started to give her some of her medication again. She is sick today, but I hope she starts to feel better soon. She should come home soon. It has been really hard on my mom because she has been there with her all day everyday, so I have been taking care of everyone while she takes care of my grandma. We are happy and feel a lot more relaxed with our life now than before. Not much has happened other than that. I will update more later when I have pictures from Halloween.

An End and A Start

So as many of you know we are moving. At first we were just moving out of our apartment, but now it looks like we are moving states. The last few months have been really hard for us financially, actually the hardest we have ever faced but it seems that things may be looking up. We are moving to California to try and get back on our feet. We have a lot of work to do when we get down there and I think we are both excited. This move signifies an end to our student ward days. It may be years before we move back to Rexburg, if we do. Our future is a little cloudy but things look good. We have loved being back in our original ward, we are going to miss all of our friends, and wish we could just move everyone with us. I am excited to see my family again, especially to spend the holiday season with them. It has been a long time since I was there for the season and not just a week. Though I am trying to rap my mind around living close to my parents and not with them, that part just feels a little weird to me. I just hope that all of our plans for the future see fruition. Now I must get back to packing, even though I only have some of my stuff in our apartment it seems like everything has doubled. AHhhhhh! D. I. here I come.

And some crazy pictures of Sadie, okay one crazy picture one cute picture.

Crazy Sadie riding in a box, only at the moment the box isn't moving.

And here Sadie is sitting on a bar stool like a big girl.

finally an update

Okay, okay I know it has been nearly a month since the last time that I posted anything. Over the weekend we took a trip to salt lake for Scott's mission reunion, if you could call what we went to a reunion. We had fun all in all but there were definitely some adventures. On the way down we hit traffic three separate times, so we got to our hotel room almost an hour late, and so we left half an hour late. We thought we knew where we were going but apparently not, we drove for another hour and a half trying to find where we needed to be asking for directions 3 times before we finally found it. As it turns out Scott's mission presidents idea of a reunion is a 2 and a half hour talk by him and then 15 min of actually getting to talk to people before having to leave, starving because you hadn't eaten in 8 hours. Then we had a screaming baby in the back for the 30 min ride back to our hotel. The poor thing had spent 7 hours total in the car that day and she was starving. So our night wasn't that great but the next day was better. We left the hotel in the morning and headed into down town salt lake. We went to the gateway mall and shopped for a little while, Sadie was the only one that got anything. She got a stuffed lion that she carried around the entire time, oh and she growled like it the whole time too. She had so much fun looking at everything and getting to walk around temple square. It was the first time I had ever been to salt lake while conference was in session, and I had always heard about the protesters that stand outside the gates. Scott and I actually laughed at one group. There were a number of women dressed up as pioneers with a sign that said Joseph Smith's wives. It is sad to me that people feel the need to do that type of thing. I guess we are just a bunch of terrible people doing terrible things by listening to our leaders. (sarcasm) Anyway we really enjoyed our trip, and the opportunity to get away as a family. Those always seem to be the best times for all of us. On the way home Sadie learned a new trick, she managed to take off her shirt, and she was so proud of herself. And what would a post be without pictures. I'll post more pictures from the trip when I get them on the computer.

Poor Baby

So Sadie has had a high fever since Saturday, needless to say our weekend has not been the greatest. The poor girl has such a hard time sleeping that she cries non stop. It is so hard for me to see her this way. I tend to get very depressed when I don't know what to do for her, though if she is still sick tomorrow we are going to the doctors. Anyway it may be a little while until I post depending on how she is doing over the next few days. Updates to follow.

A New Talent and A Hard Day

Sadie has taken up a very fun new talent and not just for her, I enjoy it too. Now when we can't go to the park we stay at home and draw on the sidewalk with chalk. She loves it and it was very cheap too. A box of 20 sticks was only 2 dollars at Walmart.

She even likes to draw on daddy's trailer.

It is best that she wears something that she can get dirty because she will.

She was not happy when she had to stop and come inside.
And in other news she is still teething and started to run a fever this afternoon so we might not see some of you at church tomorrow. She is a little grumpy and hasn't wanted to really eat or sleep all day. I just hope she sleeps tonight.

Something Fun

Okay, I decided that I needed a project so I decided to make a new bag for Sadie. It was pretty easy and fun to find things that I already had to make her new bag.

Scary-ness

Sadie scared me so badly tonight. She fell off of her slide step and bit through her tongue. It started to bleed so much but I know there isn't anything that the Dr.s can do for it so I calmed down pretty fast.

Yes she is covered in blood and boogers.

Here she is enjoying some ice cream after dinner to help her tongue.

Sometimes She is Too Curious

This is what I get for leaving the dryer door open.

I'm glad that it wasn't hot.

Goodbye to a good friend

I am writing this post with a very heavy heart. Today my mom took my dog Lexi to the vet to be put to sleep. She was starting to get really bad and my mom knew it was time. I got Lexi for my tenth birthday. She was the sweetest most loyal dog I have known and I am utterly heart broken when I think that she will no longer be there when I go home to my family. She will always be in my heart and I know that she is finally released from the pain that has plagued her body the last year. And so I say goodbye my sweet Lexi dog.
