I made it and I love it

Ok so I recently discovered that my mom still has her old sewing machine so I decide that I have a lot that I want to do. Sewing is in my blood. My grandma used to work for singer and she made all of my moms clothes growing up. She is amazing and can do anything. I remember my mom making a lot of my clothes when I was little too, so I wanted to try my hand at it though I haven't really sewn anything serious in about 12 years. This last week I made two skirts for Sadie, though I didn't have a pattern, lets just say I have a few things to work out before they are church worthy. Thanks to wonderful friends that are very up on whats going on in the craft and blog worlds I was able to find a few more ideas for things that turned out much better.
Here are the fabric cube and rings. One of the rings is really more of a triangle ( I got carried away while stuffing it).

I think that Sadie likes them.

So thanks everyone for being so awesome. Oh and doesn't she look cute in her new piggy pj's.

She Is Going To Be A Musician

Ok so it is really a ukulele but it looks like a mini baby sized guitar. Sadie loves to play with it. She even plucks the strings. She also likes to sing and dance when she hears music. I will have to try and get that on tape next.

Sadie playing the ukulele.

This is how I found her the other day while she was munching on her cereal puffs. She didn't seem to really notice. It was too funny.

Ok so I royally screwed up my blog. It may take me a little while before it is back to normal.

Fun in the Sun and Sand

This Friday Sadie and I went to pick Scott up at work, since we were close we decided to go to Stinson beach. It is north of San Francisco. It was sunny, which was nice but it was pretty windy so we didn't stay too long. Here are some pictures of Sadie's first day at the beach.

She loved the sand, and in the few seconds after I took this picture that sand was in her mouth. So nasty I know.

Here she is, her first experience with sand.

Irish and Glad to be

Ok so St. Patrick's day is kind of big in my family. My mom's family is Irish. Every year we have corned beef and cabbage with carrots and red potatoes. It is one of my favorite meals and I only get it once a year. Only not this year, I will be gone for the night. Oh well. My mom wasn't going to make it at all because no one is around for dinner anymore, but everyone started to complain about it so she gave in. Even though I never got to know my relatives on my mom's side very well it is fun to be able to share in their traditions.

9 Months Old

Ok so yesterday was Sadie's 9 month birthday. I can't believe that she is only 3 months away from being a year old. I tried to post yesterday but I just couldn't get to a computer. I was able to get her a medical record number and take her to the hospital where I went as a kid. She is doing a lot better now. Here are some pictures of the cutie pie from yesterday.

She is pulling herself up really well these days. Sometimes she only holds on with hand.

Sick Days

Ok so I feel fine now, but poor Sadie is so sick. She has the worst cold ever and our pediatrician is almost 900 miles away. So my task for today is finding a clinic, or a "doc in the box" as my mom calls it. I don't know if it is actually called that or not. All I can say for last night is thank goodness for humidifiers. Although Sadie almost had me worried when she slept from 9 to 9. That's 12 hours people, with no interruptions. And now she is asleep again only 3 hours after waking up.

This is her this morning. The poor thing still wants to play and learn to stand and walk.

Pictures

This is Sadie in a fort. She really liked it. She usually hates being in the play yard but when I put the blanket over the top she couldn't stop smiling.

After going down the slide.

And this is "the look". She gives me this look all the time when she is being mischievous or funny. Oh and she loves to swing at the park.

Long Night, not because of Sadie

Ok so last night I woke up at around 3 in some serious pain. I almost had my dad take me to the hospital but I wanted to wait it out because we don't have insurance. A past history of kidney problems with my brothers made me really scared. I had been in mild pain the day before too. Thanks to my dad I was able to calm down and go back to sleep 2 hours later. I don't know what is going on with me but I hope I start to feel better tonight. My mom thinks that it might be my gall bladder but I don't know. Other than me everything is fine, actually it is great. We found out that we will be getting around $5000.00 back just in federal refund. That's what you get when you have a great accountant. My dad is seriously awesome. Sadie news: She can now pull herself up to standing position really well. It makes church that much more entertaining when she pulls herself up to look over the back of the pew to talk to the people behind us.
Time seems to be going by so fast this year. I can't believe that it is already March. My younger brother will be leaving for his mission in a month. He is not exactly excited to be going to Florida right before the summer, though he is excited to be in an area where he will be riding a bike. He is kind of into his fitness. Any way we are still trying to figure out where we will be in the next few months, I will let you know.

Growing up so fast

Today Sadie said mama! It is so exciting and yet so sad to see her so grown up, I don't know how I am going to handle her being a teenager.

Maybe Getting Back to Normal

Last night she actually fell asleep in her crib. She hasn't done that in like a week and a half. The night didn't stay perfect, she spent a few hours in bed with me. Around 5 she started to roll around and wouldn't sleep unless she was on me. I tried to push her away to the far end of the wall, she wasn't having it. So I told her that if she didn't like where I put her she could sleep in her own bed. I got her a bottle and changed her diaper and then I went to bed and let her work it out. We slept until about 8:40. That was nice. I hope that she will get back to where she was before she got sick. And here is a booty dance by miss Sadie while she is practicing standing. Sorry it is so dark.

From bad to worse

This is the only way any of us get any sleep anymore.

And this is how she wakes up and sees us.

Sadie getting ready for church

So those last nights that I described were nothing compared to what awaited me the next night. It started off like the other ones but in the end I only got 3 hours of sleep and the rest of the night I was up trying to comfort a crying baby. She had a bad cold and I didn't know. Thanks to baby Tylenol things have greatly improved. Well that and her new sleeping arrangements. Oh and now I am sick. I think I have strep but it could just be the lack of sleep and hard work I have been putting in to my moms birthday.
